Two Things Can Be True at Once: Freak Offs with Cassie & Diddy
Power dynamics between Cassie Ventura and Sean Combs in the bedroom & beyond
Ecstasy, molly, and baby oil.
Ciroc, security, club appearances, hand guns.
Lingerie, escorts, wigs, and cash.
There were just a few consistent themes in the romance between Cassie Ventura and Sean Combs.
TEN ALBUMS, NINE MISSING
When Cassie met her now ex-boyfriend, she was 19 years old and Combs signed her to a 10-album deal with Bad Boy Entertainment almost immediately. A ten-album deal for a new artist, an agreement that sounds too good to be true.
While Ventura assumed she was going to enter a lifestyle focused on her talent and stardom, Combs was lurking between the fine prints of a contract, locking down his new girlfriend with no intentions of sharing her with the world.
On May 13, 2025, dressed with a near-nine month baby bump, camel trench coat, and fitted chocolate dress, Cassie Ventura and her no-nonsense personality took the stand to testify as a character witness in the trial against her ex-boyfriend.
During direct examination from the prosecution, Ventura described to the jury just how little authority she had over her life. Sean Combs was her boyfriend, her boss, the guy who paid her rent, paid for her cars, her phone bills, and lifestyle. The guy with a ten-album contract hanging over her head, despite only one album ever being released.
His bodyguards, drivers, and staff would coordinate Cassie’s schedule and travel. This allegedly included dropping off drugs to her home hours before freak offs began, and even more, removing her cars and cell phones on behalf of Combs whenever Cassie misbehaved. On several occasions, staff members of Combs would drive to Cassie’s residence when she wasn’t answering communication with Combs.
For an artist with a ten-album contract that only released one, that meant loss of income for touring, merchandise, and promotion. Cassie’s ability to provide for herself was non existent.
Control freak (offs).
HIGH OFF FREAK OFF’S AND DARK FANTASIES
Testimony about freak offs was not exciting, glamorous, or full of juicy gossip. It was disturbing and relentless. Cassie’s straightforward approach of communication in describing what it was like to be high for days, managing drugs that led to vomiting, and a lifestyle of constant incoherence, was painful to imagine.
When Cassie told the court about Combs’ preference for male escorts to urinate on her, time stopped and hung over the room like a lead cloud.
Cassie described the way Combs would request male escorts through services like Cowboys for Angels, and would even desperately expect Ventura to scout men from Craigslist.
The couple would request exotic dancers to meet them at hotels, and when the men arrived, Cassie and Combs would be wearing masks, wigs, and bandanas to maintain anonymity. Cassie explained that many escorts would lose their erection once Sean Combs began speaking. Everyone knows his voice.
“It felt like it was all I was good for.” Cassie describes her reluctance towards freak offs, repeating that she felt disgusting and humiliated.
“His eyes would go black during freak offs… It was not the version of the man I loved.”
“I never wanted him to feel judged, but I wanted him to know it made me feel worthless like I didn’t have anything else to offer.”
Prosecution asked, How would he react when you told him that you no longer wanted to participate in freak offs?
“He was dismissive… He said I was predictable".
Hotels of freak offs included New York City’s the London, Trump Hotel, Gramercy Park, Hotel, and the Intercontinental. In Los Angeles, it was the Intercontinental in Century City, the Montage, the London, and the Beverly Hills Hotel.
In Miami, the freak offs would take place at the Mandarin, the Satai, One Hotel, and Fountain Blue. All hotel rooms would typically be arranged to have an additional room that could be blocked off by a door. One of Combs’ assistants would schedule the rooms and Sean would always pay.
Combs and Ventura would use fake names on the reservations. Cassie was Jackie Starr, and Combs slipped between the name Frank Black and Frank White. Frank? I asked myself …It turns out Combs’ father used to be the associate of convicted drug lord Frank Lucas. Is that a coincidence?
Staff members would supply hotel rooms with everything Combs wanted for the long stretch of demented sex marathons. This included stage lighting, strong smelling candles “like Diptyque”, astro glide, condoms, and of course, baby oil.
Cassie would warm up the baby oil in the sink per Sean’s request, and if they would run out of that slippery lube during a session? Assistants were expected to bring baby oil to the hotel.
According to Cassie, baby oil was typically reapplied every five minutes, “We had to be glistening.”
Cassie describes the rooms lit with candles, and studio lights of red, green, or blue. She said Sean always directed the freak offs.
Cassie calmly describes the raunchy nights as so over the top that often blood, urine, candle wax, and oil would be all over the walls, door handles, and sheets by the time they left the hotels. Despite large cash tips they would leave behind for housekeeping, it was not uncommon for hotels to request large payments in order to clean up and sometimes completely refurbish these rooms.
“I was squeamish and high in the moment… Not a whole lot of control.” -Cassie Ventura on Freak Off parties.
On the stand in a room of strangers, Cassie recalls her 12 year relationship with Combs as a decade of her always being high on drugs like marijuana, ketamine, GHB, mushrooms, and cocaine. The excessive numbing was how she managed her lifestyle, so that she could be detached as she was having “sex with a stranger I did not want to be having sex with.” Texts between Combs and Ventura prove that she would ask her boyfriend how many drugs to take and when. She was just doing her best. She was surviving.
Because of Sean Combs’ big life, the couple was rarely alone or without distraction. Cassie testified that the only time she had his full attention was during their days-long sexcapades. Two things can be true at once: She loved him, but resented his darkness.
Communication between the two of them showcased their nicknames for each other. Sean would call her CC and tell her it was short for Cassie Combs.
Cassie would call Sean “Pop Pop” because he wanted the same nickname as her grandfather.
The combination of endless drugs, dangling album contracts, and conversations of marriage, meant that Cassie Ventura was living in a fantasy. A dark fantasy.
“Ideas of objectifying me were tossed around like it was nothing.” Said the now mother of two.
Yesterday, the defense described the relationship between Sean and Cassie as full of jealousy. They painted it all out to be a classic toxic relationship. The reality is not so simple. It seems to me that in between fantasies of a powerful life with mega mogul P Diddy, Cassie experienced moments of sober understanding. And that’s when the true darkness surfaced.
She loved him, she hated him. Without him, she was homeless, jobless, in breach of contract.
Testimony of Cassie Ventura is expected to continue tomorrow with the beginning of what is sure to be a heartless cross examination. Stay tuned for more coverage inside the courtroom for Sean Combs vs The United States.
Would be funny if Jackie Starr was in reference to that old song by Lisa Lisa & The Cult Jam, Little Jackie. Theres a line ‘little Jackie she wants to be a star’
